So another WrestleMania has come and gone, and……it was alright.
The RAW Women’s Championship Fatal Four-way was the best offering from the girls on the show, with Bayley retaining over friend, foe and Flair.
With three-quarters of the Four Horsewomen needed to put her down, Nia Jax looked like a true monster; strong, resilient and powerful.
Sasha was eliminated rather easily by Charlotte, it was a bit shit but whatever.
Bayley successfully defended her title, paying homage to ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage with a diving elbow on Charlotte for the win.
John Cena and Nikki Bella vs The Miz and Maryse……wasn’t really a match was it?
Disappointed we saw nothing from Maryse, and Nikki’s contribution to the match was minimal.
Annnndd then we have the post-match celebration…..
FUCKING CALLED IT! I knew, you knew, even Nikki Bella knew that SuperCena was going to propose, thus ending the longest and most annoying Total Divas storyline in history.
Six-Pack Challenge for the SmackDown Women’s Championship was our final offering from the women of WWE over WrestleMania weekend.
Originally on the kickoff show, the match was moved to the main card earlier in the weekend due to fan backlash. This showed WWE that the fans do care about the women of the blue brand but, alas, they got the death slot.
This was of course to be expected, but the match would have gotten more time and probably been better had it been on the kickoff.
Naomi walked away with the title in her hometown, which was a nice moment for her to cement a solid return.
This was a tremendous showing of faith and understanding by the company, to make sure these girls got their shot on the big stage, however the match did suffer as a result.
